KOSUN Vertical Cutting Dryer Mainly Used for Waste Disposal

  1. KOSUN Vertical Dryer was designed to provide efficient throughput for high rop operations. Its high capacity processing provides substantial reduction to the oil-on-cuttings ratio to help meet compliance regulations for waste disposal. Maximum separation of solids and liquids can be achieved. Increased separation means increased fluid recovery, lower cost of replacement fluid and minimal waste to be transported and disposed of, going straight to your bottom line.

Vertical cutting dryer uses centrifugal force to dry drilled solids in oil or synthetic base fluids. A stainless steel screen bowl traps “wet” solids and accelerates them up to 900RPM with G force up to 420. Liquid is forced through the screen bowl openings, while “dry” solids are extracted by the angled flights attached to the cone, which rotate slightly slower than the bowl. Tungsten carbide protects the flights from abrasive solids and ensures long operational life. This aids in maintaining a constant gap between the scroll and screen bowl, which is crucial for vertical cutting dryer proper operation.

Drilling fluids VERTI-G Cuttings Dryers could be regarded as a vertical centrifuge, the discharged cuttings transferred by the auger get into the screw conveyor. Drilling fluid vertical cutting dryer from the opening on the top, under the function of centrifugal force produced by rotation of the screen module. Liquid flow out from the opening at the flank side while the solids discharged out from the outlet at the bottom of the cutting dryer. The discharged solids water content is around 30%, that means there is no flowing water, so it could be transported easily.

Vertical centrifuge could meet environmental objectives by reducing waste volume, maximizing liquid recovery and reducing your project cost. KOSUN can provide all-around drilling waste management as well as solids control equipment.
